The end of the Cold War changed the purpose of the UN’s original mission to prevent another world war. Do you agree or disagree with the statement and why?
I disagree with the statement. I dissagree because the UN failed several smaller missions. I think they failed these missions because they were focusing more on stopping bigger wars. One thing they need to realize though is that small wars often get bigger and can result in world wars if there’re not stopped.
This article is connected to Craig’s article about the number of teen drug users in parts of the United States because the people are effected in the same way. The teens are effected because they are getting sic and dying from using drugs. The teens parents are involved because their kids are getting really sick and possibly dying from the drugs. The school is also involved because they have to deal with the media and the fact that their students are not doing as well in school because of the drugs.
What did you find interesting about this topic?
I thought this topic was interesting because it’s sad that even though they know it could kill the teens some people still want to sell them the drugs for the money. Also I’m interested to know why the teens would even try something they knew could kill them.
What did you like about the initial blog posting?
There was nothing I really liked about it because it’s a relatively sad topic but pretty interesting because of the information the stories about it have.

What is the issue?
Roadside bombs killed eight American soldiers in separate attacks Sunday in Diyala province and Baghdad, and a car bomb killed 30 or more people in a food market in a part of the Iraqi capitol. At least 95 Iraqis were killed or found dead they included 12 policemen in Samarr with the cities police cheif who died.
Who is affected and how?
the families of the people who died - their family members may have died in the bombing
the government - they have to pay to fix the damage of the bombed area.
the bombers - they will soon have to go to jail if they get caught.
the police - they have lost members of their force and they have to go out and arrest the bombers.
the american soilders - some of them lost their lives and their familes and other soilders they worked with will go into greif.
What would you do if you were directly involved?
If I were directly involved I would help provide proper medical care to the people who were injured and hold proper funerals for the people who died. I would also make the bagage checks more secure to make sure no other bombs got into Iraq.
